SamMobile Recap: Gear Live smartwatch goes live, KNOX comes to stock Android, and more

There’s a lot of stuff that happens in the mobile industry, something that is especially true when it comes to giants like Samsung. If you missed out on some (or all) of what happened in the last 24 hours or so, well, here’s a recap of all the big things that went down.

Samsung officially announced its first Android Wear smartwatch, the Gear Live, which will retail for $199 and offer Google Now and other features right on your wrist. The Gear Live is up for pre-order on the Google Play Store, and will hit Samsung and other retail stores on July 7th. Furthermore, Samsung and Google announced that KNOX would be integrated into the next major release of Android (Android L), a move that would make Android suitable for enterprises right at its core.

The Galaxy Note 4 was rumored to be ready for mass production, with a release soon after IFA in September. The Samsung Apps store was announced to be getting a name change to Samsung Galaxy Apps starting July 1, as the Korean manufacturer looks at differentiating its services based on operating system.  The Galaxy S5 Google Play Edition was sighted once again, and Samsung revealed that it probably won't meet earnings expectations for Q2 2014.
