Another Samsung device is receiving an update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Well, at least a particular carrier variant of a phone that has already gotten KitKat. AT&T is rolling out the KitKat update to the Galaxy Note II, with firmware version I317UCUCNE5, following a release of the update to its variant of the Galaxy S III last week. The update brings over the traditional KitKat features and changes, including better performance, white status bar icons, full-screen album art and a camera shortcut on the lockscreen, wireless printing support, expanded emojis, closed captions, ability to select the default messaging and launcher apps, and updated versions of a few Samsung apps.
Also included are improvements to Bluetooth, copy and paste, and the keyboard app, with a Beats Music app now comes preloaded and cannot be removed (yay for bloat!) As usual, expect the update to show up on your device over the next few days, or head into the Settings » More » About phone » Software updates menu to pull it manually.
