Following recent allegations that one of its Chinese suppliers was employing child labor, Samsung has temporarily suspended business with the factory in question. The Korean manufacturer has found evidence of child labor at Dongguan Shinyang Electronics Co. Ltd. – three separate investigations by Samsung since 2013, with the last one ending on June 25 this year, had found no cases of child labor, but according to the company's latest findings, illegal hiring of underage workers apparently took place at the end of June.

Samsung has announced that it will permanently sever ties with the aforementioned supplier if the investigations conclude that child labor was indeed employed, “in accordance with its zero tolerance policy on child labor.” Hopefully, the company will double down on making sure none of its suppliers step out of line in the future, though it's likely that rare cases like these will continue to occur.
