Over the past couple of months we have been constantly hearing about a new “premium” Samsung device. At first it was believed to be a Galaxy S5 variant fashioned out of metal but now it appears to be a completely new device. It is widely referred to as the Samsung Galaxy Alpha and while there's no official information about its specifications, a retailer in UK has already started accepting pre-orders and has listed online alleged specifications of the device.
UK retailer Mobilefun is now allowing customers to place pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. The 32GB model is listed for £549 which is approximately $920. This appears to be the outright selling price for Galaxy Alpha, its unclear how much the carrier subsidized price is going to be.
As far as the specifications are concerned the retailer claims that the Galaxy Alpha has a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 1280×720 resolution at 320 pixels per inch. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, GPS, microUSB, EDR and LE. A 12 megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash along with a 2.1 megapixel front camera is also said to be onboard.
Only recently some high quality pictures of what is believed to be the Samsung Galaxy Alpha were leaked online, and the metal build is certainly one major selling point. The device is expected to be unveiled later this month.
