Samsung has received a major respite in its legal wars with Apple, as US District Judge Lucy Koh has overturned Apple's request to ban a few Samsung devices in the country in a verdict handed out earlier this year that would have seen Samsung pay $120 million to Apple. The ruling comes as a result of Apple failing to establish a solid link between Samsung's infringing products and Apple's claim that these products caused it “irreparable harm.” Samsung is, unsurprisingly, quite pleased with the outcome, promising American consumers with a wide choice of “innovative products” – a few months back, we would have expected Apple to plead against the ruling, but recent attempts by both companies to bury the hatchet suggest that the Cupertino giant will let this one go without any further drama.
