Samsung has made the ‘premium budget' Galaxy A5 official in Russia. It's one of the two Galaxy A series devices that the company announced previously. Buyers in Russia will be able to avail the device for RUB 23,990, which translates to $441. The Galaxy A3 is expected to follow; the device already has a listing on a Russian carrier's website, which also gives a peek at its price — RUB 16,990/$313. Those of you with sharp memory might also recall that the Galaxy A5 was announced in China for an equivalent of $420, so Samsung isn't doing all that bad at keeping the device priced pretty much the same across markets.
To remind you of its specifications, the Galaxy A5 has a 5-inch 720p display, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 CPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board, expandable storage. It also has a 13 mega-pixel rear camera, and a 5 mega-pixel front. Clearly, nothing ground breaking here — the USP of the device is its attractive design, and supposedly a solid build.
