It was recently revealed that the Galaxy S6 might be delayed due to some issues with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, but Qualcomm has denied the authenticity of the report. Meanwhile, we know that Samsung always releases an Exynos variant of their flagship smartphone. In our exclusive report about the upcoming Galaxy S6, it was mentioned that the device might be equipped with Exynos 7 Octa SoC. According to a new report from South Korea, Samsung is working on a tri-band LTE Category 10 modem equipped Exynos SoC, which will be released next year. This modem will help devices in achieving data speeds of up to 450Mbps. Interestingly, the release date of this chipset coincides with the release date of the Galaxy S6. Does this mean that the Galaxy S6 might feature Exynos 7 Octa with LTE Cat.10 connectivity? The Exynos 5430 SoC with a LTE Cat. 6 modem (Exynos Modem 303), was manufactured by Samsung itself, but It is unclear whether the same will be true for the upcoming chipset.

A couple of weeks ago, Qualcomm announced its upcoming LTE Category 10 modem dubbed as the Gobi 9×35 but as per the official specifications, it is not being used in the Snapdragon 810 processor. It means that the Exynos variant of the Galaxy S6 might feature faster cellular connectivity than the Snapdragon variant. In Q3 2014, Samsung was the second largest smartphone vendor in the world after Apple.
