The Galaxy Note 4 is currently available in two processor variants, the one with an Exynos 7 Octa processor and the other with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset. It looks like Samsung is working on one more variant of the Galaxy Note 4 with an updated processor. Our sources have revealed to us that a new variant of the Galaxy Note 4 with a Snapdragon 810 SoC is being tested for some major carriers in South Korea. These carriers might be LG+, SKT, and Olleh, but we are not too sure about the names. Unlike the Snapdragon 805, which features a 32-bit quad-core CPU and Adreno 420 GPU, the Snapdragon 810 SoC uses a 64-bit octa-core CPU working in ARM's big.LITTLE configuration and an newer Adreno 430 GPU. It might be a few months before this updated variant is released since the Snapdragon 810 is not completely ready for mass production yet. Earlier this week, it was reported that the Snapdragon 810 might be delayed, but Qualcomm has rubbished such claims.

It would be interesting to see how the Snapdragon 810 variant performs when compared to the variant with an Exynos 7 Octa processor since both the SoCs feature similar CPU configuration. Samsung is even working to equip the Exynos SoC with LTE Cat. 10 connectivity for download speeds of up to 450Mbps, which might be used in the Galaxy S6.
