Following the Galaxy Alpha and the two metal-clad Galaxy A3 and A5 smartphones, Samsung is expected to announce the new E series, with the SM-E500 and E700 expected to be two of the first devices that will be made official. The SM-E500 was seen making its way to India for testing last month, and now, the phone has showed up on Samsung's mobile website. According to the phone's user agent profile (UAProf), the SM-E500 features a 720p display, putting it in the mid-range category as befits its model number, which is similar to that of the Galaxy A5 (model number SM-A500).
The SM-E500's screen size is expected to be 5-inches, which should make the display quite sharp and crisp. The UAProf also lists a 1.2GHz processor, which we're guessing is the Snapdragon 410 chip that's set to become the next chipset of choice for Android manufacturers making mid-range devices. No other details are available at the moment, but it shouldn't be long before more info on the SM-E500 – expected to be called the Galaxy E5 upon launch – starts popping up all over the place.
