We exclusively revealed the specs of the Galaxy A7 yesterday, and today, we're back with details on the Galaxy E5 (SM-E500F) and Galaxy E7 (SM-E700F), two of Samsung's upcoming E series devices that have been showing up in leaks over the last couple of weeks. Both the E5 and E7 will feature the latest version of Android, aka 5.0 Lollipop, out of the box, and will have specs pretty similar to the Galaxy A5 and A7.
Let's talk about the Galaxy E7 first. The E7 will feature a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen of HD (1280×720) resolution, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB of expandable internal storage, and a 2,950mAh battery. The E7 will be considerably thin at 7.2 mm, while its full dimensions will be 151×77×7.2 mm. As listed above, the phone will run on Android Lollipop, likely with the same UX as seen on Lollipop on the Galaxy S4, S5, Note 3, and Note 4.
Coming to the Galaxy E5, this mid-range E series device will come with a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 2,300mAh battery. The rest of the E5's specs are simlar to the E7, including the Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable internal storage, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The E5 will be thinner though, with a thickness of 6.9mm, and will weigh around 140g.
According to our insider, the E5 and E7 will come with non-removable batteries, though it remains to be seen whether that means they will have metal bodies. We're unclear when the two phones will be officially announced, but with the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 still not easily available (the A7 hasn't even been announced yet), we will probably be waiting a couple of months into 2015 before Samsung takes the wraps off the Galaxy E5 and E7.
