If you think about one of the worst things in Google's latest version of Android, it would be the omission of Mute or Silent mode. Google somehow missed one of the most logical and important things in a mobile phone with Android 5.0 Lollipop, but Samsung didn't. After we updated our Galaxy Note Edge to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop, which was rolled out today, we noticed that it had the Mute mode sitting under the notifications tray as a quick setting toggle. The Mute mode can also be activated from the volume rocker or through sound settings from the Settings menu.
Now, many would argue that Android shouldn't be customised, and that stock Android is the best form, but we think that these are the kinds of reasons where customised Android like TouchWiz has an upper hand. If you didn't know already, Samsung has started rolling out Android Lollipop to the Galaxy Note Edge in Australia. If you are in Australia, and still didn't receive the update, you can manually download the OTA file (1018.12 MB) from our firmware section.
