Samsung released the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5 (SM-G900W8) in Canada about two weeks back. Major carriers in the country confirmed back then they will roll out the update over-the-air. Unfortunately the OTA had to be halted because the update was causing issues like excessive battery drain, screen freezes and force closures. A new version of the update is now being rolled out for the Galaxy S5 (SM-G900W8) in Canada.

Canadian carriers Bell and Kodoo have already notified their customers that a new OTA is incoming.  The firmware G900W8VLU1BOC1 is rolling out over-the-air. It brings fixes for all of the issues that users faced with the previous update. It carries a build date of March 10th. Galaxy S5 owners in Canada can check for the update by heading to Menu >> Settings >> About device >> Software update >> Update on their device. The update can also be installed through KIES.
