Galaxy S5 owners on US Cellular should keep their eyes peeled today for an update notification because the carrier has finally released Android 5.0.1 Lollipop for Samsung's 2014 flagship. Lollipop roll out for the Galaxy S5 in the United States started back in February and initially it was the major carriers that released the update. Now smaller regional carriers are jumping on the bandwagon as well.
US Cellular has released Android 5.0.1 software version G900R4VXU1BOC1 for the Galaxy S5. It shouldn't take more than a couple of hours for the update to go live for all of the carrier's customers that have this device. Otherwise there's always the option to hook up the device to a PC and manually update it through Kies. Everything that comes part and parcel of Lollipop, including but not limited to user interface improvements, new features and enhancements will be brought over to the Galaxy S5 on US Cellular.
