We've previously revealed that Samsung is working on the successor to the Galaxy Tab S. The Galaxy Tab S2 will be thinner than the Apple iPad Air, and it will feature a screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio. Now, we have some more information about the upcoming high-end tablet from Samsung.
According to the latest information, there will be four variants of the upcoming high-end tablet – Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + LTE variants of the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 and the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 – and all of them will be announced in June, just like the original Galaxy Tab S. These new tablets will be released worldwide, including the US, Canada, European markets, China, Latin America, Hong Kong, Korea, and India.
As we've reported earlier, the Galaxy Tab S2 will have premium material (read metal) on the outside, and is expected to feature the latest 64-bit Exynos processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM, microSD card slot, Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, Samsung's in-house modem with Cat. 6 LTE (300Mbps), 8-megapixel primary camera, and 2.1-megapixel secondary camera. The 8-inch model has dimensions of 198.2 × 134.5 × 5.4 mm and the 9.7-inch model comes in at 237.1 × 168.8 × 5.4 mm, and both are considerably light at 260 grams and 407 grams respectively.
