Now that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge has made its way outside South Korea, many users of the devices will be running the newest version of the OS in the next couple of weeks. We have managed to get our hands on Samsung's consumer consultant guide for Marshmallow on the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, which goes through all the new features, how they work, and compares how the changes measure up to previous iterations of Android.

According to the guide, the major new features include the new Doze battery saving mode, advanced control of permissions for apps, dynamic audio and video rendering and synchronization, and “support for the MIDI audio protocol.” You can see visual comparisons of how the lock screen has changed (the clock is now moved to the center, the lock screen icons are more colorful, etc.) You can open links right inside the messaging app through the in-app browser, the Edge screen gets new functions, and the lockscreen has a few minor interface changes.

The status bar's white and blue theme is accompanied by a change in how the quick settings toggles can be edited, and there are a few more changes that you can check out in the guide. Of course, you can also take a look at Marshmallow on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge in all its glory through our picture gallery.

Download the guide here (it's a Powerpoint file).
