The Galaxy Tab A, which was announced almost an year ago, is currently running Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop). We did report six months back that the Galaxy Tab A could receive the Android 6.0 update, but there was no official confirmation about it. However, Samsung has now revealed that it does plan to release Android 6.0 update for its mid-range tablet offering.

Samsung UK's support centre has mentioned through Twitter to one of our regular readers that Marshmallow update for the Galaxy Tab A is under development. However, the company did not reveal any information regarding the update's release time frame. It's a good news for Galaxy Tab A owners, and gives them a reason to hold on to their tablet. Do you think Samsung's update policy is improving?

Thanks for the tip, Sanay!
