Regardless of the fact that it's the largest mobile carrier in the United States, Verizon was the last carrier to offer support for Samsung Pay in 2015. Carrier support is absolutely required for Samsung Pay otherwise the mobile payment service won't work. Verizon customers who are looking forward to receiving their Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge should keep in mind that they won't be able to make payments on the go as the carrier has removed the Samsung Pay app from its units.
There doesn't appear to be any good reason why Verizon has removed the Samsung Pay app from the latest flagship smartphones despite the fact that it's supporting the service on the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge. Trying to install the app from the Play Store doesn't seem to work as well, though, it appears that it's possible to sideload the app on Verizon's Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge but whether the service will work at a payment terminal or not remains to be seen. There's no official word as yet from Verizon explaining why it has chosen to remove the Samsung Pay app from the latest flagships or when users can expect to get the app on their handsets.
