Samsung had announced a “groundbreaking” Dolby Atmos-compatible soundbar earlier this year during CES 2016, and the company has just announced its pricing and availability. With the HW-K950 soundbar system, the South Korean electronics giant wants to bring Dolby Atmos sound without much complexity. The soundbar will set you back by $1,499, and will land in stores this summer.
The HW-K950 soundbar system includes the subwoofer and two wireless satellite rear speakers. The soundbar and the satellite speakers feature upward-firing speakers that will bounce sound off the ceiling in your living room to simulate overhead Atmos effect. It is the industry's first soundbar to include two Atmos-compatible rear speakers.
If the price tag is out of your budget right now, you can should a look at the HW-K50, which costs just $899. The package includes just the soundbar and the wireless subwoofer to reduce the preliminary cost. You can buy two Radiant360 wireless speakers from Samsung at a later stage and pair them with the HW-K50 to recreate the complete setup. Samsung has also announced availability and pricing of its 2016 4K TV lineup.
