Galaxy S5 survives the outdoors for seven months

The Galaxy S5 was Samsung's first flagship to feature IP67 dust and water resistance, the handset was capable of taking on the elements as it was completely protected against dust and against up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. What if the Galaxy S5 was exposed to the elements for far longer, say seven months? Well as it turns out the Galaxy S5 is more than capable of surviving the outdoors for several months.

A South Korean man named Bae Gyu-ryong lost his Galaxy S5 in his persimmon orchard last year. He kept searching for it but didn't find it as the device was on silent mode and he presumably did not have Android Device Manager on the phone. Earlier this month Gyu-ryong discovered his lost Galaxy S5 by chance as he was working in his orchard. The handset had been exposed to the elements for over seven months, including the winter months. His Galaxy S5 was wet when we found it but after it was cleaned and dried the phone worked like it didn't spend the last seven months in an orchard. As they say, all's well that ends well!
