Samsung released the successors to the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 in China last month, and they were made available in Europe a week after that. Now, the company is gearing up to launch the Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) in other markets including India.
Samsung has sent out press invites for the official launch of the Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) in India. The launch event is set to happen tomorrow in New Delhi where the company is expected to announce the pricing for the devices. When compared to their predecessors, both the devices feature higher RAM capacity, larger batteries, and wider aperture for front-facing cameras. The Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) also come packed with an NFC chip for Samsung Pay.
The Galaxy J5 (2016) features a 5.2-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB RAM, and a 3,100 mAh battery. The Galaxy J7 (2016) comes packed with a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, an Exynos 7870 processor, 3GB RAM, and a 3,300 mAh battery. They sport a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera, both with ƒ/1.9 aperture and LED flash.
The Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 are currently the best-selling Samsung smartphones in India, and the company wants to extend the lead over its competitors with these new smartphones in the mid-range segment.
