The Galaxy Note 7 is just a few weeks away, and we've been told that Samsung will start production on the device this month. Now, we're seeing the typical certifications that come with each new smartphone release. The latest shows the Korean giant certifying the Galaxy Note 7 model number SM-N930FD in Russia, giving Russian customers reason to get excited.
The model number SM-N930FD shows the presence of dual SIM slots (as indicated by the “D”), with the “F” ending matching the European model number we've seen back a few weeks ago that indicates Samsung will bring the Galaxy Note 7 to Europe, with the Korean giant set to make up for the absence of the Galaxy Note 5 there last year, no doubt). Of course, it appears as though there'll only be one Galaxy Note 7 model this year (not two), and this Russian model certification certainly matches the model numbers we've seen here at SamMobile since back in March earlier this year, with only the SM-N930 model number to speak of (different alphabet endings for different regional variants, of course).
We've been covering the usual, expected specs for the device (you can see all our Galaxy Note 7 coverage), but recent developments suggest that 1) the “next big thing” may have the next wide screen, 2) the presence of the USB Type-C port that confirms our own exclusive on the next Galaxy, 3) that there will be three colors to choose from (Black Onyx, Silver Titanium, and Blue Coral) as well as an iris scanner on the back to boot. A curved display has been verified by Korea, but new Galaxy Note 7 cases reveal the same design.
Add to these evidences the 5.8-inch, Super AMOLED display with a 1440p screen resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC, 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB of minimum storage, 5MP/12MP camera combo with f/1.7 apertures, and a 3,600mAh battery, and you've got one world-class device. The Galaxy Note 7 unveil is set for August 2nd, and at that time, all the “Galaxy” will live on the edge.
