CES 2023 is coming, and so are Samsung's CES 2023 announcements related to home appliances and smart TVs. Samsung DX CEO JH Han penned an editorial earlier today, explaining what the company plans to bring to its smart home ecosystem and what we can expect from Samsung to announce at its CES 2023 keynote on January 4, 2023, at the Mandalay Bay Ballroom in Las Vegas, USA.

JH Han said that the world is complex and changing rapidly, and people might face uncertainties in the global economy. Despite all these challenges, Samsung plans to bring more valuable and eco-conscious products through its innovative technologies. The South Korean firm is focusing on creating and recognizing sustainable innovations as the essential value in its business. For CES 2023, Samsung's theme will be “Bringing Calm to Our Connected World.

Samsung will unveil a new and expanded SmartThings experience that integrates with smart homes more seamlessly and more securely. The company said it is also exploring easier and safer ways to add new products to a smart home. The South Korean firm will also present more customized experiences to its users, thanks to its AI technologies that learn from usage patterns.

The company is making more efforts to bring a positive change to the environment through its innovative technologies, like using discarded fishing nets in manufacturing some components for its devices. Samsung has also introduced ultra-low-power semiconductors and energy-saving products.

Samsung is working with Asia Clean Energy Coalition (ACEC) and various NGOs to expand the use of renewable energy sources at all its production factories in Asia. It also joined the SCC (Semiconductor Climate Consortium) as a founding member during the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference held in November 2022. It plans to reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions and support green technology startups.

Will Samsung’s latest attempt at a cultural shift be another failure?

Samsung has been facing strong headwinds for a few years now. First, it was the supply glut in the memory market, which significantly reduced profits. That was followed by its inability to beat SK Hynix and become the frontrunner for HBM3E chips, potentially leading to billions in lost revenue. To make matters worse, Samsung Foundry […]

Samsung’s new landmark display is as big as three basketball courts

Samsung made our brains melt when we visited its flagship store in South Korea earlier this summer and witnessed one of the largest displays we've ever seen — a 600-inch The Wall screen that, fittingly enough, covered an entire wall. Now, Samsung is at it again. The company has just finished installing an even larger […]
