Samsung has a different story to tell when it comes to the ongoing patent lawsuit against Apple in Japan. Today the Tokyo District Judge Tamotsu Shoji ruled that Samsung did not violate Apple's patent involving synchronizing music and video data with servers. The judge said that it was “hard to believe the products belong to the range of technologies of the claimant” and ruled that Apple will be liable to pay the cost of the lawsuit after the verdict.
This decision will be welcomed by Samsung since the Korean company was found to infringe some patents in its home market and a lot of infringements in the United States where the jury awarded Apple $1.05b for damages.
