Samsung recently started taking pre-registrations for its new flagship smartphone in India. Customers in markets like South Korea and the United States will have to wait until April 21 to get their hands on the new device. Samsung today confirmed that it's going to launch the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in India on April 19.
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were both unveiled at an event in New York City late last month. The 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch handsets feature Samsung's Exynos 8895 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. They also feature an iris scanner, fingerprint sensor, facial recognition and come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
It remains to be seen, though, if Samsung will start giving out units to customers on April 19 or if it's going to make them wait until April 21 (or April 28th). The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will be available in Midnight Black, Maple Gold and Coral Blue colors. Prices have not yet been revealed but they may start at Rs. 59,990 ($930) for the Galaxy S8.
