Samsung unveiled a new Gear 360 camera alongside the Galaxy S8 last month. The company has now released a new smartphone companion app for the Gear 360 (2017). The Gear 360 (New) app can be used to control the camera remotely, change various settings, and even for initiating a live 360-degree broadcast on Facebook, Samsung VR, and YouTube.
The Gear 360 (2017) uses two 8.4-megapixel camera sensors with F2.2 aperture and fisheye lenses to capture 360-degree images and videos in “near 4K” resolution. The device is smaller than its predecessor, hence easier to carry around. Apart from Samsung smartphones, the camera is also compatible with newer iPhone models as well as PCs and Macs.
