Samsung wasn't able to get the Bixby Voice feature ready at launch so even though it has been released for users in South Korea, those who own the new flagship in the United States will have to wait for a while before they can give voice commands to Samsung's new voice assistant.
Verizon customers also found out that Bixby's image recognition feature, which was available at launch, was crippled on their units. The feature is called Bixby Vision and it's capable of identifying text and recognizing objects. It also links to Amazon so users can just point their smartphone's camera to an object that interests them and get links to shop for it online.
Verizon confirmed that the feature wasn't working on its units and that it was working to resolve it. It has now rolled out an update which enables Amazon shopping on Bixby vision. Image recognition works and will now provide links to shop for the object on Amazon.
Thanks, Mike!
