Skype hasn't released its official app for Tizen yet, but if you own a Samsung Z4, there's a workaround if you want to use the IM service. The folks over at TizenExperts have discovered that you can use Skype on Tizen 3.0-based Samsung Z4 via its stock web browser.
The stock web browser on the Samsung Z4 supports a protocol called WebRTC (Real Time Communication), which makes it compatible with a lot of IM services, including Skype, Telegram, and WhatsApp. All you need to do is, open web.skype.com on the phone's stock web browser and log in to your account. You can send and receive chats as well as audio and video calls. You can also access real-time notifications through the notifications panel if you keep the web browser tab always active.
You should not expect the same video or audio quality that you get on Skype's official app on iOS or Android, though. WebRTC has a long way to go before it catches up with native apps. If you own the Samsung Z1, Z2, or Z3, you'll have to wait for the Tizen 3.0 update before you can use Skype using this workaround.
