We've known that Samsung has been working on a successor to the ruggedized Galaxy Tab Active for a while, and now esteemed leaker Roland Quandt has shared some information about the so-called Galaxy Tab Active 2.
There isn't a huge difference between the Galaxy Tab Active and Galaxy Tab Active 2 in the design department, but that doesn't mean there aren't some subtle differences; the latter's more rounded and features cleaner buttons, for example.

Things get a lot more interesting when you take a look under the hood, however. The Galaxy Tab Active 2 allegedly sports an 8-inch TFT LCD display (1,280 x 800 pixels), a 1.6GHz Exynos 7880 CPU, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.
Other notable specifications include an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing shooter, Bluetooth 4.2, a fingerprint reader embedded in the physical home button, LTE capabilities (SM-T395), an S Pen and a 4,450mAh removable battery.

Aimed towards corporate customers, the Galaxy Tab Active 2 comes with a POGO pin receiver for use with third-party accessories, as well as a software development kit, which enables companies to develop workplace applications.
When will Samsung launch the Galaxy Tab Active 2?
Expected to launch later this year, the slate is rumored to ship running Android 7.1.1 Nougat skinned with Samsung's Experience user interface. It's expected to priced somewhere in region of $500 to $600, depending on the model.
