Galaxy J3 (2016) owners on AT&T are receiving a new firmware update which brings Android 7.1.1 Nougat for their handset. The carrier has started rolling out the Galaxy J3 (2016) Android 7.1.1 Nougat update now. The August security patch and the Blueborne vulnerability fix are also included in this release.
It's a pretty hefty update at 1GB so users should ensure that they're connected to a good Wi-Fi network before downloading. They also need to make sure that there's ample juice in the device's battery before they begin the installation process.
Galaxy J3 (2016) Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update
AT&T has started rolling out firmware version J320AUCU3BQI5 for the Galaxy J3 (2016). It comes with the Android security patch for the month of August. Samsung has largely bypassed the September patch in favor of rolling out Blueborne fixes. The fix for the Blueborne vulnerability is also included in this release.
It detailed the October patch recently and that will soon be making its way to Samsung handsets. All of the features that are part and parcel of Nougat are included in this update. Features include an improved notifications experience, enhanced Doze mode, multi-window support and more.
AT&T is now rolling out the Galaxy J3 (2016) Android 7.1.1 Nougat update over-the-air. Those who own the handset on its network will get an over-the-air update notification soon if they haven't already.
