Samsung Pay has been updated with support for Banco Bradesco, one of the largest financial institutions in Brazil, bringing it in line with competitors Banco do Brasil, Banco Inter, Banrisul, Caixa Econômica Federal, Porto Seguro, Santander and Neon.

We should point out, however, that even though Samsung released the upgrade on Thursday, it can take up to a week to reach your handset—but as soon as it does, you'll be able to start making contactless payments in brick-and-mortar and online stores.

“The partnership with Bradesco reinforces our constant search to increase possibilities within Samsung Pay,” said Antonio Quintas, VP of Mobile, Samsung Brazil. “Our intention is [to provide] more and more consumers with [the benefits of the platform.]”

Is Samsung Pay compatible with my smartphone?

Samsung Pay is available on a whole host of smartphones, including the Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S6, though support varies region by region. To see if it's compatible with your handset in Brazil, head over to Samsung's website.
