Samsung Pay has come a long way since it was announced a couple of years ago. The company has gradually expanded the service to more markets across the globe. It's popularity has quickly picked up because it can easily be used to pay anywhere a customer can pay using a conventional credit or debit card. That's courtesy of the MST technology that Samsung Pay has.

Samsung is now looking to improve the mobile payments experience even more than it already has. While users can already earn Samsung Rewards points on purchases, the company today announced that they will soon get instant cash back on purchases from select retailers. The cash back initiative will be limited to the United States initially but it may be rolled out in other markets in the future.

Samsung Pay users will get instant cash back

The new cash back deals from leading retailers will be available within the Samsung Pay app. Users will find them in the Cash Back section of the Samsung Pay app's home screen. Once they select the offer they want and complete a purchase through the participating merchant, the user will immediately receive a percentage back on their purchase.

That cash back will be instantly credited in their Samsung Pay account which they will be able to use for any purchase at any merchant. Samsung hasn't detailed all of the retailers that will be offering cash back deals but the list does include the likes of eBay, Instacart, Etsy, Walmart and Warby Parker.

Samsung also revealed today that later this month, users will be able to purchase Samsung Rewards points the same way airline customers buy extra miles to have enough to get what they want. More information about the process to buy the additional reward points will be provided later. Samsung says that it will continue to come up with new ways to further improve the mobile payment experience for the millions of users who rely on Samsung Pay.
