Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A7 earlier today. It's the company's first smartphone with a triple camera system at the back. It was rumored prior to its launch that this handset's specs would be largely similar to that of the Galaxy A8+ (2018). There are quite a few similarities between these devices. They feature the same 6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display and the Exynos 7885 Octa 2.2GHz processor. The Galaxy A7 will also be available with 4GB and 6GB of RAM.
The main difference is obviously the rear camera. The Galaxy A8+ has a single 16-megapixel f/1.7 aperture camera at the back. The Galaxy A7 boasts a triple camera system, Samsung's first. There's a primary 24-megapixel lens with autofocus and f/1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel 120° Ultra Wide Lens with the same viewing angle as the human eye and a 5-megapixel Depth Lens. They're backed up by Samsung's Scene Optimizer. It categorizes the subject and adjusts color, contrast and brightness automatically to improve image quality.
The Galaxy A7 will be available with up to 128GB of storage against the Galaxy A8+ (2018)'s 64GB. It also supports microSD cards of up to 512GB. It loses out slightly in the battery department as it has a 3,300mAh battery compared to the 3,500mAh battery in the Galaxy A8+ (2018).
