Samsung launched the Galaxy A7 (2017) in January last year so it has been almost two years since this device was released. This was a significant update for the Galaxy A series at that time. It had a metal frame and 3D glass back. It clearly took inspiration from Samsung's more premium offerings such as the Galaxy S7.

A lot has changed for Samsung's Galaxy A series since then. The company has now brought its Infinity Display to mid-range devices. The new Galaxy A7 gets it as well. Users upgrading from its predecessor will be pleasantly surprised.

Galaxy A7 vs Galaxy A7 (2017) specs comparison

The new Galaxy A7 has a larger 6-inch FHD+ display as opposed to its predecessor's 5.7-inch FHD display. It also has a faster processor in addition to more RAM and storage. The camera department is where the new Galaxy A7 also stands tall. Its predecessor has a single 16-megapixel f/1.9 aperture rear camera whereas this device has Samsung's first triple camera system. It does have a slightly smaller 3,300mAh battery compared to the Galaxy A7 (2017)'s 3,600mAh battery.

The full Galaxy A7 vs Galaxy A7 (2017) specs comparison below highlights all of the differences between these devices. You can also find the full spec sheet for the new Galaxy A7 on our devices page.
