Samsung Internet beta with One UI design changes released

Samsung has released a new beta for the Samsung Internet browser, bringing the One UI design language to the app. Beta version 9.2.00.47 is available from the Galaxy Apps Store and the Play Store now and, in addition to the design changes, also brings an important privacy feature called Smart Anti-Tracking.

As expected, the One UI design has resulted in most menus and functions being shifted to the bottom of the screen for easier access with one-handed usage. Samsung also mentions there's a Night mode now, but it's still called Dark mode inside the app and seems to work the same as before. The app icon has received an update as well, with a flatter look to match the icons we see on Android Pie on Galaxy phones.

As for the Smart Anti-Tracking feature, it's something that will attempt to reduce your chances of seeing ads about something you may have searched for on one site from showing up on another site. For example, have you ever searched something on Google, only to find ads about it on Facebook and other apps? That's made possible with cross-site tracking, and Smart Anti-Tracking will basically make it hard for sites to do that on your phone.

You can download the newest Samsung Internet beta from the Play Store or Galaxy Apps store. We also have the APK for the new version available in our APK section.

Why I have beef with Samsung’s hamburger menus

The hamburger button has been a shortcut to list-type menus in different operating systems and software applications since the '80s (via Wikipedia).
