The Galaxy Fold has a unique form factor which is why conventional cases and covers won't work with it. The device folds like a book from the middle and has a flexible OLED panel on the inside. We haven't seen any renders from accessory manufacturers which would suggest that direction they're going to take with their products for this device.
Samsung would obviously sell accessories for its first foldable smartphone. We've discovered that among them will be a leather case. The product codes we have seen confirm that they'll be the ones featured in Samsung's recent Galaxy Fold video. So if you decide to spend $1,980 on the company's first foldable smartphone, you can spend a bit extra and have that luxurious leather feel.
Official Galaxy Fold leather case will be available in two colors
Accessory manufacturer Spigen recently shared some mockups of its cases for the Galaxy Fold. It remains to be seen which of those designs eventually get manufactured as consumer products. We won't know until next month at the very least.
What we have discovered is that Samsung is going to offer a leather case for the Galaxy Fold. Customers will be able to choose between black and white colors for this cover. It should provide adequate protection for the back and will have a cutout to accommodate the external cover display.
Since official accessories tend to be a bit on the expensive side, expect this case to cost north of $50 as well. The final price has not yet emerged but we'll be sure to update you when it does. The Galaxy Fold goes on sale April 26. It will be sold in select markets through a carefully controlled retail experience.
