Samsung's latest One UI 6.1 update is almost here for older Galaxy phones, including the Galaxy S23 series (including the S23 Fan Edition phone), the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Z Fold 5. We've been using One UI 6.1 for the past few weeks, thanks to the Galaxy S24 lineup, but this One UI version should soon reach millions of other Galaxy S device users through a firmware update.
In anticipation of this upcoming release, we have compiled our top 10 reasons why you should be excited about the arrival of One UI 6.1 and put them all in a new video. Check it out below!
It's not entirely clear if any of the One UI 6.1 features available on the Galaxy S24 series will be missing from the update for older phones, but, for the most part, the Galaxy S23 should soon emulate the S24 experience very closely.
Galaxy S23 & S23 FE, Z Flip 5, and Z Fold 5 users should get new camera features, better image processing, battery protection features, AI-powered photo editing, various other Galaxy AI features for Samsung Notes and Internet users, Generative Wallpapers, Voice Recording transcribe and summary tools, Interpreter, Live Translate Calls, and more.
One thing to note is that Galaxy AI likely won't be coming to phones that were released earlier than 2023, as Samsung mentioned before. On the other hand, there is a possibility, albeit slim, that at least some AI features could come to the S22 series.
New update should land this month
Exactly when Samsung will release One UI 6.1 for more phones remains to be confirmed, but new evidence suggests that the company will roll out the update before the end of March. It might release One UI 6.1 for the Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, and S23 FE on March 28.
We'll let you know once Samsung starts rolling out One UI 6.1. And whenever the update arrives, we'll make sure to take an in-depth look at what's there and what might be missing. Stay tuned, and don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more video reviews and content.
