Modern-day smartphones, although made up of high-grade materials, can't withstand the wear and tear a specialized rugged phone could.
If you are a niche customer and want a smartphone that can easily stay alive without breaking in half, then you are probably familiar with the Samsung Galaxy XCover lineup.
Samsung's XCover brand is known for manufacturing some of the best-rugged smartphones. It's been around for a decade now, but couldn't achieve the success as the Galaxy S or A-series, since it targets a very specialized audience.
The last Galaxy XCover phone, the Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro, was launched more than two years ago. Now, it is finally time for the company to update the lineup with a sequel. The upcoming Galaxy XCover Pro 2 is expected to keep up with the modern trend of featuring 5G connectivity.
The Galaxy XCover Pro 2 is expected to have room for the 3.5mm headphone jack as well
Samsung may go ahead with the outdated infinity-V notch on the front and ditch the modern hole-punch design. These pieces of information are coming in based on a complete set of renders leaked by Steve Hemmerstoffer, aka OnLeaks. The renders reveal the Galaxy XCover Pro 2 will include a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Other specifications of the Galaxy XCover Pro 2 include thick screen bezels, a dual-camera setup, a flat-screen 6.5-inch display, and a price point that would be below $500.
There are reports that this device will be powered by the Exynos 1280 SoC, which it will share with the Galaxy A53 5G and the Galaxy A33 5G. On the software side, the XCover Pro 2 should come with Android 12 and One UI 4.1. There is currently no word from Samsung on when it will launch the device.
