According to a post on Reddit, the latest beta version of the Apple Music app for Android (version 4.7.0, build 1359) comes with a feature that allows you to transfer songs from other music streaming platforms to Apple Music. For example, if you have a playlist on Spotify or YouTube Music, this version of the Apple Music app allows you to transfer songs from your playlist on those platforms to Apple Music.
The app shows the pop-up for the new feature as soon as you open it for the first time after updating it. You can either access the feature by clicking on the pop-up or from the settings page in the app. When you access the feature, the app shows that it is powered by SongShift, a service that allows you to “transfer music playlists across streaming platforms and share them with your friends.”
Unfortunately, the feature isn’t functional yet (it doesn’t move past the loading screen). Plus, Apple hasn’t made it available to everyone using the latest beta version of the app. Expect the company to fix the issues with the feature and make it available to more people with the next version of the app, and then make it available in the stable version of the app. Considering that there’s usually parity between the features on the Apple Music app for Android and iOS, expect this feature to become available on iPhone soon.
