Earlier this week, Apple announced the availability details of the Vision Pro. Apart from the pre-order and sales dates, the press release also contained some interesting information related to the product that many people didn't notice. In the announcement, Apple has shed light on the kind of movies and games it will offer for the Vision Pro.

Spatial games

According to Apple, people will be able to access games for the Vision Pro on the App Store, and the collection will include NBA 2K24 Arcade Edition and Sonic Dream Team. Plus, the company will offer more than 250 titles (at launch, we assume) for the mixed-reality headset through Apple Arcade, which is its game subscription service.

More importantly, Apple says that it will offer “spatial games” for the Vision Pro that “take advantage of the powerful capabilities of Apple Vision Pro to transform the space around players, offering unique and engaging gameplay experiences.” The collection of spatial games will include Game Room, What the Golf?, and Super Fruit Ninja.

3D movies

According to Apple, people will be able to access “more than 150 3D titles” on the Vision Pro in the Apple TV app. The brand said that these movies will offer “incredible depth wherever they are.” Along with that, the company is introducing Apple Immersive Video, a new (presumably 3D)  video format “that puts users inside the action with 180-degree, three-dimensional 8K recordings captured with Spatial Audio.

This is what is special about Apple. It not only makes great products but also collaborates with brands, content creators, and developers to bring apps, games, and content for those devices. For example, when it launched the ARM-based M-series processor, the company made sure that all the major applications were optimized for it.

Samsung is also preparing a mixed-reality headset in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm. We hope that these companies also make similar efforts to offer enough content around the product at the launch. Speaking of which, Apple will open pre-orders for the Vision Pro in the US on 19 January 2024 at 05:00 AM PST.

Today, that should […]
