Apple has announced that more than 600 applications designed for the Vision Pro will be available on the App Store when the company makes the mixed-reality (MR) headset available to purchase in the United States today. According to the tech giant, along with apps designed to work natively on visionOS, more than one million apps on the App Store will be compatible with the Vision Pro.

Apps designed specifically for the Vision Pro are spread across various categories, including convenience, entertainment, and productivity. The convenience section includes online shopping and weather apps, such as J.Crew Virtual Closet and CARROT Weather. The entertainment category includes audio streaming, video streaming, and gaming apps, such as Apple Music, Apple TV, Disney+, HBO Max, NBA 2K24 Arcade Edition, and Sonic Dream Team. Whereas, the productivity section includes video conferencing and collaboration apps, such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft 365.

While there will be a plethora of apps available for the Vision Pro at launch, three of the biggest entertainment apps, Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify won’t be available for the headset when it comes out, which could be a huge disappointment for a lot of buyers. Fortunately, they will be able to access those streaming services from the device's web browser. Plus, the three companies could launch their apps on the Vision Pro down the line. It is also worth mentioning that Apple has said that it will offer more than 150 3D titles in the Apple TV app for the Vision Pro at launch.
