If you plan on pre-ordering Verizon's Galaxy S20 5G ahead of the official June 4 release, you can now take advantage of a hefty discount by pre-ordering the phone from Best Buy. The so-called Galaxy S20 5G UW with 128GB of storage can now be pre-ordered on a Verizon 24-month agreement for just $29.16 a month, down from $42.67.
Oddly enough, this offer is available only for the Galaxy S20 5G UW in Cosmic Gray. For other color variants like Cloud Pink and Cloud White, you'd have to pay the full price when pre-ordering the phone via Best Buy. In addition to this ongoing discount, Best Buy is pairing your Verizon Galaxy S20 5G with a $50 gift card.
Why is Verizon's Galaxy S20 5G arriving this late?
You can read more about the reasons behind the phone's late arrival on Verizon's network in our prior story, but the gist of it is that the smaller Galaxy S20 model doesn't support Verizon's mmWave 5G network out of the box.
Verizon's Galaxy S20 5G required special treatment. It's technically a custom 5G version of the Galaxy S20, and it had to be released a bit later for this reason. However, Verizon's Galaxy S20 5G is the same as the regular S20 5G in every other aspect. It shares every other specification with the standard Galaxy S20 5G model, from the screen size to the internal hardware.
