Earlier this month, Samsung rolled out the September 2022 security patch to the carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in the US. Now, the firm is rolling out the same security update to the carrier-unlocked versions of the two devices in the country.
The new update for the Galaxy Note 20 comes with firmware version N98xU1UEU3FVI5. It is rolling out to the carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra on all the major carrier networks in the US, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile. The update brings with it the September 2022 security patch that fixes more than 24 privacy and security vulnerabilities.
Your phone should notify you about the new update, but if it hasn’t, you can check for it manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and clicking on Download and install. If you are well-versed in flashing ROMs, you can download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
The international LTE and 5G versions of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra have even received the October 2022 security patch. Expect it to arrive on carrier-locked and unlocked variants of the two devices in a few weeks from now.
