Last week, Samsung rolled out the December 2022 security patch to the international versions of the Galaxy S22 series smartphones. Now, the company is rolling out the December 2022 security update to the carrier-unlocked versions of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra in the US.
The new software update upgrades the firmware version to S90xU1UEU2BVL1, and it brings the December 2022 security patch. The update is currently rolling out to the carrier-unlocked versions of Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra on four networks in the US: AT&T, Cricket, Bluegrass Cellular, and C-Spire.
The security update fixes a total of 93 security vulnerabilities. Among those 93 fixes, 67 are a part of Google’s December 2022 security patch, while the other 26 fixes are from Samsung’s end. While the update could also have bug fixes and performance improvements, Samsung hasn’t mentioned about them in the change log.
If you haven’t already received a notification on your smartphone about the update, you can check for it manually by going to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. If your phone still isn’t showing the update, you can download the firmware from our database and flash it manually.
