Circle to Search broken on the Galaxy S24 Ultra for some users

Circle to Search is one of the many new artificial intelligence-powered features that Samsung has introduced with the Galaxy S24 series. The tech behind this feature actually comes from Google, but it's been implemented very well in Samsung's One UI to provide a seamless user experience.

It appears that Circle to Search isn't working as well as it should be on the Galaxy S24 Ultra for some users. The issue may be caused by the latest update that Google sent out, perhaps it has some bugs that need to be addressed.

Circle to Search possibly broken by latest Google app update

Circle to Search basically lets you search anything on the screen by simply drawing a circle around it. You access the feature by long-pressing the home button and then circling the object you want to search. The Galaxy S24 series was the first to come with this feature out of the box, and it has since been made available to other devices, including those not from Samsung.

Multiple users have complained about a problem with Circle to Search on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The feature just stops giving them results, throwing up an “It Looks Like There Aren't Many Great Matches For Your Search” error instead. All of the required permissions had to been given and Google Assistant was set up by these users as well, so nothing changed with the settings to prevent this feature from working. Resetting the phone to factory settings didn't work as well.

One user found that it's the latest Google update that's likely causing the issue. They downgraded from the latest version by heading to the Play Store, searching for the Google app, and tapping on uninstall.

This doesn't remove the app from the phone but downgrades it to the previous version. Apparently this workaround gets Circle to Search going again on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This workaround should help users continue to take advantage of this feature until a fix is rolled out.
