Samsung has just announced that Disney Plus (stylized as Disney+) is going to launch in the UK next week on March 24. Will the streaming service be available on your Samsung Smart TV? It sure will, as long as you own a 2016 or later model.
Disney Plus is an on-demand streaming service from The Walt Disney Company, offering ad-free access to a variety of series, films, and documentaries in up to 4K resolution with HDR support. Popular entertainment brands that are a part of the service include Star Wars, Pixar, Marvel, National Geographic, and more. Disney Plus is also the only streaming service that lets you watch The Mandalorian in the UK, and elsewhere, so if you're a fan of the Star Wars universe, it's the place to be.
Initially planned to launch in the UK on March 21, the release has been pushed back a few days, but the wait is almost over. Starting next week, Samsung Smart TV owners will be able to sign up for a free seven-day trial to the streaming service, after which they can continue their subscription in exchange for £5.99 a month or £59.99 a year.
Select Samsung Smart TV models come pre-installed with the Disney Plus app. If you can't find the app, you should be able to download it from the store. And don't forget that TV models compatible with Bixby will allow you to launch the service by issuing voice commands.
