It's been years since Samsung started removing the 3.5mm headphone jack from its flagship phones, and with every new generation of mid-range Galaxy A devices hitting the market, many people wonder whether or not the 3.5mm headphone jack is still present or M.I.A.
After all, the Galaxy A80 didn't have this feature, which suggests that it's only a matter of time before Samsung decides to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack from other models in the series.
Fret not, the 3.5mm headphone jack has survived another year
Thankfully that time has yet to come, and as far as the brand new Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 are concerned, they each feature a standard 3.5mm audio port for your wired earbuds / headphones needs. Of course, they also take advantage of Bluetooth 5.0 so you'll be able to pair either one of these devices with whatever wireless headphones or Galaxy earbuds you desire.
Whether or not Samsung will eventually end up removing this feature from future Galaxy A models remains to be seen, but perhaps this won't happen anytime soon. Had the 3.5mm headphone jack been removed from the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72, we suspect that fans would've been outraged. The port's removal would have left a black mark on an otherwise fantastic duo of mid-range phones, so we're happy to see Samsung avoiding that route.
Is the 3.5mm headphone jack still important to you, and is it a decisive factor when weighing the pros and cons of buying a new smartphone? Would you have been interested in the Galaxy A52 and/or the Galaxy A72 had they lacked this feature? Feel free to share your thoughts below.
