The Galaxy Z Fold 4 was unveiled today alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Watch 5, Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. Samsung's newest foldable flagship smartphone brings improvements in terms of design, cameras, performance, and software. But, has the company implemented the feature that most Galaxy Z Fold 3 users were demanding?
The Galaxy Z Fold 4's inner display is compatible with the S Pen Fold Edition, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 3. However, the stylus doesn't work on the smartphone's cover display. The S Pen digitizer on the inner display is meant to be used with a special S Pen with a retractable tip. To make the cover display compatible with the S Pen, it would need a different digitizer, which wouldn't with the S Pen Fold Edition.
Even if Samsung added an S Pen digitizer to the cover display, it is possible that users would try to use a regular S Pen even on the inner foldable display, causing damage to the screen. Hence, the South Korean firm has stayed away from bringing S Pen compatibility to the cover display of the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
Do you think the next version of the Galaxy Z Fold device should have S Pen compatibility on both screens? Let us know in the comments section below.
