Samsung is full of surprises when it comes to the Galaxy Ring. Nobody expected the upcoming smart wearable to appear at Mobile World Congress 2024, especially since Samsung hasn't revealed anything groundbreaking at MWC in recent years. Nevertheless, it happened!
Samsung brought the Galaxy Ring, or at least the current iteration of the Galaxy Ring, to Barcelona. The company says the wearable is evolving, which could mean this isn't its final form. Still, we had the opportunity to capture many photos of the current Galaxy Ring behind its glass enclosure at MWC 2024, and you can check out our image galleries below.
The Korean tech giant was light on details, and, again, Samsung was keep on reminding us that the Ring is still evolving. But judging by what the company was willing to share, the Galaxy Ring, in its current form, is characterized by these main design traits:
- The Galaxy Ring has a concave exterior design.
- At MWC, the Galaxy Ring is presented in three colors: Platinum Silver, Gold, and Ceramic Black.
- Samsung showcased no fewer than nine sizes for the Galaxy Ring at MWC (5 through 13).
If Samsung pulls this through, the Galaxy Ring might become one of the most versatile smart rings to hit the market.
There's a Samsung Galaxy Ring for everyone
In anticipation of the Samsung Galaxy Ring, we have checked out a couple of to-be-competitors in recent months, including the Amazfit Helio Ring and the Noise Luna Ring. Neither of those seems to be as versatile as Samsung's wearable.
The Luna Ring is offered in six sizes and three color options, and the Amazfit Helio Ring is available in one color and two different sizes, which is quite odd, seeing how Amazfit presents the Helio Ring as a professional-grade health tracker for “elite athletes.”
As for features, Samsung told us the Galaxy Ring offers tons of health and fitness tracking sensors for sleep, heart rate, blood oxygen, skin temperature, and period tracking, along with a new AI-powered sleep quality metric called Vitality.
More so, Samsung wants the Galaxy Ring to offer four extra sleep-oriented features presently lacking from Galaxy Watches, i.e., respiratory rate and heart rate tracking while sleeping, night movement, and sleep latency tracking.
Samsung hasn't announced exactly when the Galaxy Ring will go on sale, but you should be able to buy one before the end of the year. We can't wait to learn more about the Ring, and we'll share everything new we come across, so stay tuned.
