The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is the most fashionable smartphone on the market, partly because Samsung has collaborated with various fashion houses and brands to create either special edition Z Flip 4s or unique accessories for the foldable flip phone. The company has just added another collab to the latter category and announced a new series of limited-edition lanyards for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in Spain and Portugal.
Samsung teamed up with Spanish fashion firm “El Ganso” to create a new limited-edition collection of lanyards for the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The collection includes 7 Pantone-matched lanyards in different shades of gray, beige, and purple. The fashion firm drew inspiration from Samsung's colors and the El Ganso ribbon, which means the lanyards should go well when paired with El Ganso shirts and canvas shoes.
Samsung's fashion strategy has changed since last year
The El Ganso collaboration is one of many and reflects a change in Samsung's strategy to promote the Galaxy Z Flip series. In the past, Samsung teamed up with fewer but larger fashion brands, including Thom Browne. But nowadays, the company appears to have changed its approach toward pushing the Z Flip series into the limelight. Instead of sticking to one or two big collaborations, Samsung reached out to a higher number of smaller fashion firms.
As a result, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 has so far seen several fashion-oriented collaborations with firms such as Lacoste, Maison Margiela, and Prosto. These collaborations revolve more around accessories than the phones themselves, and although they don't seem as exciting, the end results are not as expensive. Only time will tell if this trade-off will or won't work in Samsung's favor.
As for the latest El Ganso collaboration, the colorful lanyards are available through the fashion firm's online shop and at various points of sale in Spain and Portugal.
