Two days ago, Samsung had released the February 2022 security update to the Snapdragon version of the Galaxy S21 FE. Now, the South Korean firm has started rolling out the Exynos version of the smartphone with the same security patch.
The latest update for the Galaxy S21 FE (SM-G990E) comes with firmware version G990EXXS1BVB8, and it is currently available in India. More markets could get the new update within the next few weeks. According to Samsung, the February 2022 security patch, which is included in the latest update, fixes over 60 privacy and security vulnerabilities. The update could also include device stability improvements and general bug fixes.
If you are a Galaxy S21 FE user in India, you might have already received a notification of the new update. If you haven't received it yet, you can check for it manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy S21 FE in January 2022 with Android 12-based One UI 4.0. The smartphone will get up to four major Android OS updates in the future, which means it's good to get up to Android 16 updates.
